As a Community Pharmacist and Assistant Clinical Professor, I am asked on a daily basis to explain complex scientific data and medical jargon in terms that the average person can understand. The purpose of this blog is to take the Eiro products and the componets of the Eiro products and explain them in terms that will make understanding clear yet concise. To my Medical Colleagues, this site is not intended for you, although I hope you find the content informative. There are other places where you will be able to find the more detailed information you seek. I will site references where appropriate and I encourage all to check them out for further understanding and study. If you ever have any questions regarding what you read here feel free to post a comment and I will attempt to answer you as best I can.

/ April 14, 2009It looks like there is some Beta Caratine in some of these fruits, I was wondering if there is any Retinal in them as well. I was told that Pregnant women should not have too much retinal in there diet and was wondering if a pregnant woman would be able to use this product.

/ April 14, 2009Retinol is the animal form of vitamin A, which include retinol, retenoic acid, and retinyl ester. They are known collectively as Retenoids. Plants/fruits contain carotenoids. The most abundant and most effecient carotenoid is beta-carotene. Yes, both Eiro and Eiro Energy contain carotenoids and beta-carotene. Since there are no animal products in any of the Eiro formulas, they contain no retinal. As far as if a pregnant woman could use the Eiro Products, that is totally up to their OB doctor.

/ April 22, 2009Hi! I have hypothyroidism and take Levothyroxine (50 mcg.’s) every day. Will EIRO interfere with this drug and prevent it from working?
James
/ April 22, 2009Levothyroxine is best taken in the morning (unless you do shift work) on an empty stomach. An empty stomach means you take your medication at least 30 minutes prior to any food and take it with water. Since Eiro contains whole fruit purees, it would be no different than eating each of the five fruits in their whole form. Check with your physician, but I see no reason to exclude Eiro from your diet unless you plan to take your medication with the Eiro drink.

/ August 15, 2009My husband has HHT. Stands for Osler Weber Phondue (?, on my spelling of this) Is there anything in Eiro that works like a blood thinner?

/ November 6, 2009Sorry that your question hasn’t been answered sooner! I hope that you have been able to get an answer sooner through another mechanism. You are refering to Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (aka Osler Weber Rendu disease) which causes small vessel aneurysms & arterio-venous malformations and a concern for bleeding. I am not aware of any components in EIRO that would increase his bleeding potential. If anyone has any other information, please let us know!
