Acai
Tying it all together. A general rule in science is: pigment richness – is proportional to intensity of color – which is proportional to phenolic richness – which is proportional to ORAC (antioxidant strength). When you look at the 5 superfruits that are contained in Eiro, you see that they have taken the best pigmented fruits, with exceptional taste, properly formulated to create the most effective and nutritious superantioxidant nutriceuticle available.

Caja
Eiro has taken the best of the purple (Acai), the best of the yellow (Caja) the best of the orange (Acerola) and the best of the red (Pomegranate) and combined them with the best natural vitamin C known to man (Camu-Camu). The synergy created by combining the phytochemicals of these 5 fruits has a dynamic impact on how your body can neutralize free radicals and handle oxidative stress.

Acerola
When we review the colors of Eiro and the phytochemicals associated with those colors, we begin to see the significance of the choice of these 5 superfruits. Every phytochemical found in Eiro is a pigment that has a function within the plant/fruit it is contained. The purpose of these pigments many times is to provide some kind of protection to the plant/fruit and often that same protective function is transferred to us when we consume the fruit. *

Pomegranate
The dark colors, ie. the purples, the blues, the reds are associated with the phenolics or also called the polyphenols. The main antioxidants from these colors are the anthocyanidins, proanthocyanidins, catechins and the tannins. Remember these are the same antioxidants that are also found in chocolate, tea, and red wine and are attributed to their health benefits.* The light colors, ie. the yellows , the oranges, and the reds are associated with the carotenoids.

Camu-Camu
The carotenoids are divided into 2 classes, the Xanthophylls and the Carotenes. The main xanthophyll antioxidants in Eiro are lutein and zeaxanthin, the main carotene antioxidants are alpha and beta carotene and lycopene. In addition, we cannot ignore 2 very important antioxidants found in Eiro, and that is Vitamin C and Vitamin E. We have discussed Vitamin C in detail under Camu-Camu, so a word about Vitamin E. The vitamin E family has 8 members – 4 tocopherols and 4 tocotrienols. Studies suggest that optimal health benefits are obtained by intake of a mixture of vitamins E’s. The different vitamin E forms have synergistic effects as free radical scavengers, and between the 5 superfruits of Eiro, all 8 are present. Another important aspect in trying to neutralize free radicals is that there are many different types of free radicals present. According to Steve Born of Hammer Nutrition, “If there were only 1 or 2 types of free radicals negatively affecting our bodies, we’d be able to get by with one, maybe two, antioxidants such as vitamin C and vitamin E. The truth, however, is that there are a number of free radicals, both water-soluble and fat-soluble, which is why a wide variety of antioxidants is necessary. Additionally, not only do antioxidants work on a specific type (or types) of free radicals, most-to-all of them work synergistically, supporting, augmenting, and enhancing the effects of other antioxidants…the oft-used saying, The whole is greater than the sum of the parts is quite appropriate when talking about antioxidants and how they work in the human body”. * The Eiro formula has antioxidants covering virtually every type of free radical.
Also in Eiro, there is a full complement of other vitamins, minerals, and amino acids giving you an arsenal of powerful nutrients to assist your body daily.* Usuing the best from nature, Eiro has created a unique and truly best in class functional beverage.
