We have talked about the Energy and Vitality Blend found in Eiro Energy, but what about the other ingredients? Are they healthy? Do they add to or detract from the Eiro Energy proprietary blend? Let’s find out.
The other ingredients are: Cherry Juice, Agave Nectar, Pomegranate Juice, and Blueberry juice. You can learn about Pomegranate at this post, The Seeded Apple. Blueberry juice is an exciting addition to Eiro Enengy. If you remember from the post on Superfruits, Blueberry was the first “superfruit.” Any fruit with an ORAC value greater than the Blueberry could be called a Superfruit.(1) So what does this superfruit bring to the table? The first phytochemical is Resveratrol. You can learn more about Resveratrol at this post, All-Star Team (Part II). Blueberry juice contains about 1/3 the resveratrol found in red wine.(2) Blueberry juice is high in Vitamin C and manganese. It also contains tannins, flavonols, catechins, phenolic acids, beta-carotene (Vitamin A), alpha-tocopherol (Vitamin E) and Glutathione.(3) Besides Resveratrol, there are over 25 individual anthrocyanidins in blueberry juice that have antioxidant activity.(4)
Numerous antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents have been identified in Cherry Juice and research shows that consumption of cherry juice reduces circulating concentrations of inflammatory markers.(5) Not only has cherry juice been shown to reduce joint inflammation but has also been shown to reduce muscle soreness after exercise.(6)* As you know, not only is cherry juice in Eiro Energy, but also in the Eiro superantioxidant formula. Cherry juice also has an ORAC score just slightly less than Blueberry juice.(7)
Agave Nectar comes from the same cactus plant as tequila. It is a natural sweetener composed of fructose and glucose. What is unique about Agave Nectar is that it is low glycemic. According to the FDA, any food with a glycemic index of 55 or less is low glycemic. Agave Nectar has a glycemic index of 27.(8) What this means is that Agave Nectar will add sweetness to Eiro Energy without impacting your blood sugar levels. I think we can agree that the other ingredients found in Eiro Energy add to the healthy aspects of this proprietary blend making Eiro Energy the first truly health Energy drink.

/ April 6, 2009I have some friends interested in Eiro, but they are doing weight watchers and wanted to know how many fruit servings are in the daily two oz?

/ April 6, 2009I am not exactly sure how weight watchers calculate fruit servings, but there are only 36 calories and only 9 grams of carbohydrate. In the diets most athletes follow 9 grams of carbs would be close to 1 fruit.

/ July 20, 2009I am trying to find the ORAC score for your product. Is it higher than 10,000? What was the score?
Thanks,
